I must be misunderstanding what I'm reading. In case it needs a Windows generated file, I tried dragging from my Windows Data drive (I have dual boot on my machine with Windows 7 as the second option) to the virtual W7 but it still wasn't successful. I also enabled that but still can't drag the file into W7 or copy and paste it. I rebooted VB in case the settings needed that but am still not able to drag a folder from the Mint file manager to the desktop of the W7 VM.Ībove the setting for 'Drag'n'Drop' in the settings there is another option for 'Shared Clipboard'. In the VB window I went to Machine > Settings > General > Advanced and enabled Bidirectional Drag'n'Drop. exe file I have in my downloads folder in Mint. This would be great since the software I need to install in W7 is an. I think this means I can drag a folder from the host (Mint) to the guest (W7) or whichever way it is enabled. I'm totally new to VB and not all that experienced in Linux. Reading up on 'Drag'n'Drop' in the Oracle online manual it says that this can be enabled from 'host to guest', 'guest to host' or 'bidirectional'. The installed OS (I think that's referred to as the 'guest') is Windows 7 Ultimate. I have Virtualbox 5.0 installed in Mint Cinnamon 17.3.
